73 years after the end of the war, it is still difficult in Austria to deal with the aesthetics and residues of the Nazi era. Opinions often differ in this respect, as some things may still not have been »worked through« even today. Stigma sheds light on the topic of coming to terms with the past from design, semiotic and historical perspectives.
Stigma sheds light on the topic of coming to terms with the past from design, semiotic and historical perspectives. This diploma project was a collaboration with historians Wolfgang Neugebauer, Heidemarie Uhl and graphic researcher Andreas Koop.
Research about the historical relevance of blackletter, fraktur typefaces, their eclipse and political decline in wake of the last century. Ranging from medieval printing application, to Jugendstil, Arts & Crafts Movement to the Rise of the Nationalist Fascist Party in Germany.
